At the Paris 2024 Paralympics, Ghana’s para athletics team made a notable impact. Led by the talented Zinabu Issah, the team represented Ghana in the field events of shot put and discus throw.
Paris in Brief
Zinabu’s presence at the games was a testament to the country’s growing investment in para sports. Competing in the F57 category, she threw 8.84 meters in the shot put finals, placing 9th, and reached 23.85 meters in the discus throw, placing 12th.
Though Zinabu did not reach the podium, her performance was significant, as it demonstrated Ghana’s commitment to developing para athletics. Competing at this level required years of preparation, and her participation helped inspire the next generation of athletes in Ghana.
